BalticSeaPlasticFree – Sailing To Stockholm
Baltic Environmental Forum Germany e. V. (BEF) and Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW) set sails towards Stockholm to meet Keep Sweden Tidy – Håll Sverige Rent for a joint Clean-Up-Action!
The citizens-science initiative from Hamburg SailingForSeas with the skipper Rolf Menzinger invited our colleague from BEF Germany to join them on their sustainable sailing trip to Stockholm. Sailing on board of the “ZERO” sailing boat means using less engine – more sails, avoiding plastic and chemicals, eating vegan meals, using solar batteries and taking water samples for marine science researches.
It was a great chance to join forces against plastic pollution in the Baltic Sea!
Our aim with this international event was to raise awareness for the plastic pollution problem among citizens and tourists as well as within the international sailing community.
