BEF supports adaptation strategies to climate change in the Baltic States

Impacts of man-made climate change will very likely affect the Baltic Sea Region in the coming years. In order to recognise the impacts and the affected regions and sectors early and to take suitable actions, a national adaptation strategy to climate change should be developed early enough. The Baltic States will start the development of such adaptation strategies in the coming months. In the frame of the new project "BaltClim", BEF wants to support the Ministries of Environment in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania by developing roadmaps for the development of national adaptation strategies in cooperation with them. The project BaltClim is implemented by BEF in cooperation with the Institute for Ecological Economicy Research (IÖW) and supported by the European Commission, the German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safery as well as by the Federal Environment Agency.
